The Élan Collection expresses enthusiasm and passion, a collective energy to create, to experience, to color with élan. The collection explores processes and combinations of techniques that create unique and new materials for the wall. Full of movement, the new patterns embrace organic, fluid design elements. In the spirit of reopening, of moving outdoors and bringing nature indoors, the colors of the collection trend toward earth tones, blues and greens.
Intaglio’s surface is solid metal leaf, a first for Innovations. Delicate sheets of metal leaf are applied to a paper backing, then hand screen printed with color and a geometric pattern. Originally inspired by a textile that had been crushed and reopened, Intaglio resembles an etching that has been magnified to a usable mid-scale. The linear pattern, once printed, is brushed with additional metal leaf for a soft effect. Unexpected colors like blue (Steel) and green (Patina) give life to the highly reflective surface and make Intaglio a unique specialty wallcovering. Designed to emulate craquelure, the fine cracks that form on the surface of ceramics and paintings over time, the Intaglio wallpaper by Innovations features engraved line work that creates a sense of movement.
The epitome of craft, Macrame layers materials and techniques into an intricate, tactile surface. Thick cellulose yarns, laid in overlapping wave patterns, are stitched to a ground of linear cotton yarns; this dense, three-dimensional material is then dyed and cut into wide strips that are reassembled into a chevron-like pattern. With geometric movement at every scale, Macrame is gorgeous on the wall. A true artisanal material, the natural woven wallcovering uses responsible materials (renewable cotton and 20% recycled cellulose) that create tonal color variation in a soft, natural palette.
